Support Groups for Adult Survivors of Suicide Loss

The death of a loved one by suicide presents special problems in grieving, such as experiencing more shock, a greater sense of injustice, more guilt and blame, and a heightened sense of helplessness which all complicate the healing process. A safe place exists in our community for adult survivors of suicide loss (families and loved ones of suicide victims) to share their loss with others who are experiencing similar thoughts and feelings. The agencies below are available to help you find a support group in your area.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is a voluntary health organization that gives those affected by suicide a nationwide community empowered by research, education and advocacy to take action against this leading cause of death. You may visit their website for suicide loss information here: AFSP support loss group link
